Fall Dressage Camp

Dressage camp was a blast!

Unfortunately, I have no photos of the great days as the photographer AKA busy husband was busy with other tasks…regular work stuff and as everyone knows “the weekend job list”.

Everyone arrived Friday. Some of the riders had lessons scheduled for Friday so the arena was a busy place that afternoon. We had Kevin Lote from Regal Saddles here for the day tweaking saddles and fitting new ones as well.

After the dust of the day cleared, we set up a taste of great wine and interesting cheeses. Ivars kept us up to speed on his favorite Canadian whites and reds. We got to meet and relax with everyone before an early start on the next morning.

Saturday morning we started the day with Pilates in the arena. Lindsey led us in a rider oriented exercise session. The exercises were directly applicable to the riding position corrections both Lindsey and I worked on with each rider for the day’s mounted sessions. Accurate technique is the key for effective Pilates sessions and rider position corrections. Each rider learned to apply new techniques to improve their rider position, first on the lunge line and then in a riding lesson. We all had a great lunch together, enjoyed a few laughs and got ready for the afternoon sessions.

Several riders stayed over till Sunday for extra lessons. We got everyone on the road back home by early afternoon.

Thanks to everyone who helped get the weekend up and running!

Thanks to all my staff, the place looked great and ran like clockwork. You guys did great!

Thanks to Barb Stroh for all her help, picking her brain for ideas, helping out in the kitchen, and being a great friend and support.

And lastly, a big thank you to Lindsey. Your expertise and wonderful attitude shone through all weekend!

Looking forward to the next camp! Early 2009, watch for dates!
