Young Riders May show...Red Deer, Alberta

We’ve just finished unpacking everything from the May show in Red Deer.

The show committee did an incredible job re-scheduling the whole show to work around the SNOW we had last week. The facility worked great with warm-up and all the classes indoors. A great big thank you to Marj Kopke and her volunteers for a wonderful show.

Flying Colours horses had a great show!!

Pik Kasso, owned by Shelia Durand, 6 yr old Oldenburg stallion, his very first show, with Leslie Comis riding-Training level, 2 first place ribbons and one 2nd place. All marks over 60%.

Edel, owned by Donna Gent, 8 yr old Hanoverian mare, her very first show, with Lindsey Stroh riding-First level, 2 1st place ribbons, 2 2nd place ribbons. All marks over 60% including a 67% and a 66%!

Paddy, 15 yr old Irish TB, back into the ring after several significant health issues, with Lindsey Stroh riding-Inter 1, 1st place, PSG 1st place, Inter 1 Kur 1st place. Some 60% plus marks!

Monty, 7 yr old Westphalian gelding, his first time out at Advanced Level Adult Amateur, with Carol Frieser Robinson riding-4th level, 2 1st place ribbons, PSG 1st place. Nice marks, some over 60%.

Streudel, 6 yr old Westphalian gelding, with Carol Frieser Robinson riding 1st level, 3rd place and 2nd place.

Homer, Canadian Warmblood gelding, with Elizabeth Lythgoe riding 1st and 2nd Level, 4th place ribbon and 2 2nd place ribbons.

Congrats to Angie Golley on her fabulous show first time out at 4th level and PSG on Fargo. Ribbons in each class! Fargo is a up and coming 7 year old Westphalian gelding. Watch for him in the future!

Congrats to Amber McArthur on the fabulous newly imported stallion Regardez and the 5 yr old gelding, Adian. Adian 1st show was very successful at Training level, great marks and great ribbons. Regardez was wonderful at 3rd level. He stands in New Norway at the Brinkmann’s, Equitop Farms. www.equitopfarm.com

Congratulations to all!!! I was soooo proud of all of you! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication you put in this winter. It showed this weekend!

CAADA Spring Show...Kestrel Ridge, Calgary, Alberta

Donna Gent's wonderful mare, Edel, was Reserve Champion at First Level with Lindsay Stroh in the saddle. This is Edel's second show and she was a star!!! Once again, some marks over 65%!!!

Another First Level star was Carol Frieser Robinson aboard the talented 6 yr old gelding, North of Sixty (Streudel). Carol and Streudel had some wonderful marks over 65% and was in third place just behind Edel and Lindsay!!!

Our Training Level star was Leslie Comis, riding Shelia Durand's 6 yr old Canadian Warmblood stallion, Pik Kasso. All Pik Kasso's marks were over 60% placing him 4th overall at Training Level.

Finding many ribbons for all her efforts was Elisabeth Lythgoe riding Homer's Odyssey. Elisabeth did a wonderful job piloting Homer around the First/Second Level rings and received the marks and ribbons to prove it!!

Angie Golley and her stunning 7 yr old Westphalen grey gelding, Fargo were Champions at Fourth Level. Angie and Fargo did a bang up job and have the ribbons to show for all the hard work!!

Carol Frieser Robinson and her 8 yr old Westphalen gelding Millennium (Monty) put together a concentrated weekend of showing and placed third overall at Fourth Level. Some great ribbons and some super marks!!!

Paddy and Lindsey had a great show and placed in each class. Paddy is back in the swing of show season!!! Watch for this pair's first Grand Prix in the future!!!!

Once again, congrats to all!!! Your dedication and hard work once again made me soooo proud of you all!!! Good work!!

Thanks to Julia and everyone at Kestrel Ridge. Next National Level show is at Kestrel July 26/27 weekend.

Flying Colours is planning a schooling trip to Kestrel July 11/12. We'll be taking the babies and the greenies and all the nervous Nellies. We're also taking the HUSBANDS!!! (They'll have golf clubs and fishing rods in tow!!! Thank goodness!!!) Should be a wonderful weekend.
