Lisa Wilcox Symposium

To quote Lisa “My brain is very full, I don’t know if my head will fit through the doorway”.

What a way to start 2009! The application of the information from this weekend, to produce the skills Lisa believes is required for us to carry on to the next level, is now our responsibility. I’m sure we are all very excited to have this task ahead of us.

I want to send out a big thank you to all who were involved with the Lisa Wilcox clinic this weekend.

Do you believe what we just did!!!! International rider, clinician, trainer; Lisa Wilcox at Flying Colours, in Wetaskiwin, in minus 38 degree weather for 2 days! Some of the best 10 horse/riders from all over the province, enthusiastic committed dressage auditors, and great food each day!

Thank you to each rider, owner, groom who made the trek to Flying Colours on Friday and home on Sunday.

Thank you to each of the auditors who bravely trusted they wouldn’t freeze, sitting for hours, furthering their education in an arena at record low temperatures!

Thank you to my staff, who worked so hard to make everything run smoothly for all of us! They take good care of me. Thank you!

A very big thank you to Barb Stroh and Super Boy Friend, Peter Plaisier, for the wonderful food they provided each day. Amazing feat, fed all of us all day breakfast, lunch, coffee. Thank you to Bee Bell Bakery for supplying the great goodies for breakfast.

And lastly…thank you Lisa…words do a poor job of expressing our thanks for your generosity as a coach and trainer. We all appreciate the way you openly and generously helped us understand complex concepts. The work ahead of us is huge but now a little less daunting because of your help. Thank you.

Lisa was very pleased with the riding and caliber of horses. She has committed to returning to FCS. The continuity factor of having Lisa return several times a year, will help us immensely to produce the level of work we’ll need to be competitive with our horses. This is the next level. The future is so exciting…to think we now have an opportunity, to regularly have access to train with an international caliber trainer and coach. Hard work, committed riders/owners, good horses, international coaching…wide open future.

Lisa’s return dates will be set in the next couple of weeks and I’ll make sure you all have first try at securing rider and auditor spots.

It obviously speaks very well of you and your staff that Lisa has committed to return to Flying Colors.

I was very impressed with Lisa! I have watched my video over and over now. Subtle, tactful, giving and correct! I had moments when the tears of joy snuck into my eye. Seeing a relaxed & happy dressage horse with a trainer and clinician that we can count on is what we needed. And Lisa was amazing with the juniors (and it’s not easy to teach the teenage girlsJ) Lisa made her feel like she belonged right alongside the professional riders! She will learn a lot from these riders too.

Please count us in for the next clinic.

Your barns hospitality was wonderful and thank you to your staff for the wonderful care of our horses.

Wow!!! Is the one word that I can use to describe the weekend!!!

Thank you so much for putting this amazing clinic together. I learned so much that I can’t seem to remember it all, but I did try to work some of it. It was such a treat to see someone of that caliber ride. She is an amazing rider & a real pleasure to watch.

So yes please do let me know when she will be coming again. I would love to ride with her but if that doesn’t work out then I will for sure be there to audit. Thank you again Vickie for doing this. It truly was an experience. Merry Christmas & a Happy 2009 to you & everyone at FCS!!
