August 2005
The EAADA Goldrush Dressage show last weekend was a resounding success. After the torrential rains of Wednesday/Thursday, the weekend was sunny and hot. The footing dried out wonderfully after Friday’s slopping around.
Here’s the great FCS results…
Training Level Champion, Lorano (Elizabeth Lythgoe’s Westphalian gelding) ridden for this show by Leslie Comis. Great marks, some over 75%
Training Level Res Champ, Watson (Pat Sullivan’s Canadian Warmblood) ridden by Angie Golley. Another super show for this pair, congrats!
Training Level AA Champion, Billie and Barb Stroh. This pair is coming along just wonderfully. Barb and Billie have the best freestyle, we were all clapping!
First Level Champion, Wind Walker (my 4yr Canadian Warmblood gelding) ridden by Angie Golley. This baby is turning into a great show horse!!!
Second Level Champion, Magnum, owned and ridden by Leslie Comis. Magnum has decided to become a dressage horse and he did it in style!!
Fourth Level Champion, Millennium, owned and ridden by Carol Robinson. Carol had the best show ever, 4th level champ and 2nd place at PSG. Way to go Carol!!
Advanced Level Champion, Fargo owned and ridden by Angie Golley. Congrats again, Ang!!
Materiale Class Champion 3 and 4 yr olds, Wild Flower (my filly) ridden by Angie Golley. This is a very nice filly, exciting to have her in the stable!!!
High Point Adult Amateur, Barb Stroh and Billie. Congrats to Barb and her great coach Lindsey, the 3 of you worked hard for it!
First place ribbons at Training Level, Marilyn Parslow and Annie, and Pauline Gibson and Luke.
First place ribbon at Third Level, Streudel and Carol Robinson.
Once again the Warkanson babies did very well, Watson, Wind Walker, and Wild Flower.
Thanks again to grooms extraordinaire Brenda Nelson and Reiden Maygard.
Thanks to the EAADA show committee, well run and very friendly!!!
This was a super show for all FCS horses. We had many marks over 70% and most of them over 65%!!! I was so proud of everyone.
Once again Grace self destructed the Tuesday before the show, sole bruise!!!
I’ve warned everyone not to let her know the dates for Provincials!!!! Maybe if she doesn’t know the date, she’ll not have an accident before I put her in the trailer!!!
Looking forward to Provincials, we had a blast!!!
Amberlea Show
The Amberlea show. We had great hot weather for Friday and Saturday. Sunday was very wet.
Our Training Level girls were first, second, and third most classes. They switched places
each class but were top three. Congratulations to Elizabeth Lythgoe and Lorano, Marilyn Parslow and Annie,
and Barb Stroh and Billie.
Marilyn, got her first place ribbon and Barb was Reserve Champion, AA, Training Level for the show. Some great marks, 61 to 65%, for some great rides!
Angie Golley and Pat Sullivan’s gelding, Watson, were Reserve Champion, Open, Training Level. She was also Res Champ, Open, on my 4 yr old gelding, Walker, at First Level. She was Advanced Champion on her superhorse, Fargo, 64% Inter One. Angie also won the 3yr class on my filly, Wildflower, 78 and 79 in the Materiale class and a 66% Training level test. Way to go Ang, another great weekend!!!
Leslie Comis brought her Second Level horse Magnum. I think he had a bit of a cold and was not totally energized for the weekend. He did great and had a decent Freestyle mark of 64%. Good riding Les!
Carol Robinson brought her Third Level horse, Streudel and her Fourth Level horse Monty. Streudel held his own at Third, just below 60% and Monty was a star at Fourth, 66, 65, and 68%. Super riding Carol. Looking forward to the next show and heading to Provincials!
Grace, my Third Level horse, stayed home and tried to take her shoes off one by one in her paddock!!! I think she missed coming along with the gang! I don’t know if I could have fit her tests into the coaching schedule for the weekend anyway. She will be at the next show, if she keeps her shoes on!
Tom Dvorak Clinic
Tom was here for two days, August 11 and 12. Once again it was a great clinic, learned tons, clarified coaching points.
Got caught up on the news on Tom’s horses. He will be headed to Devon in September and will do the Florida circuit in 2006. Florida in February???!!! Hmmmmm!!!
